Here are the top stories today in Boulder: It took CDOT nine years to repair road damage in St. Vrain Canyon. The 2013 floods destroyed a huge part of CO Highway 7 through St. Vrain Canyon, and that work is finally coming to a close with a new road that includes a wetland system designed to withstand future floods. (CPR)Heil Valley Ranch reopening soon. The southern section of Heil Valley Ranch and the adjacent trails were closed a year and a half ago after the Calwood Fire but are set to reopen on June 16. (CO Daily)Boulder Valley School District says it will increase security. Boulder area schools had an increased police presence on the last few days of its school year, and plans are being worked on for this fall. (CO Newsline)Boulder Parks and Recreation struggling to get swimming pools open because of staffing issues. Most pools across the city won't fully be opening this summer due to a widespread staffing shortage. The parks department said it fell short of its goal to hire more than the 300 necessary for full operation, with a big shortage of lifeguards. (Reporting Lab)CDOT hopes new express shuttle service will reduce traffic on I-70. With a stop in Lakewood at the Denver Federal Center, the Colorado Department of Transportation believes travelers will be served by having another way to get to the mountains with its new Pegasus shuttle service.
