Dental Assisting Apprenticeship Have you always wanted to become a dental assistant, but high tuition and time commitment have kept you from pursuing your dreams? We are currently accepting applications for our dental assistant apprenticeship program (June 2022-Feb 2023) This is a 9 month accelerated apprenticeship program with the path to obtain your EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) certificate. Program Details Week 1-12 - Learn the basics of dental instrument sterilization. - Learn dental anatomy and terminology. - Learn how to set up the rooms for each procedure. - Learn how to greet and seat the patients and take vitals and review health history. - Learn how to assist the doctor on simple procedures. - Learn how to assist the hygienists for cleaning appointments. - Hourly pay $16/hour Week 13-24 - Learn how to 3D scan for night guards and retainers - Learn how to assist the doctor on more complicated procedures - Learn how to take X-rays - Take weekend radiology classes at PCC - Hourly pay $18/hour Week 24-36 - Prepare to take your Oregon X-ray certification exam - Prepare to take your national extended function exam - All study materials will be provided - Hourly pay $22/hour once you obtain your certifications EFDA dental assistants can earn up to $30 an hour with experience and additional certifications. Guaranteed job placement upon program completion.
