Description
Hello Denver area keyboardists. I am looking to fill the keyboard seat in my band.
The inspiration for my music is largely drawn from West African, Afro-Cuban and African American musical roots. I am looking for players who want to honor the cultural meaning of the music, not just the technical specifications. I would like to work with players who have direct experience studying these cultural art forms or are members of the culture themselves. I am also comfortable working with people who do not share these identities, but have a deep respect for and curiosity about the traditions (that would describe me).
Please check out the following link to hear the music and learn a little more about the project:

I am looking for serious players with jazz chops and chart reading skills, but who are amenable to building a project from the ground up. I need someone who can commit to rehearsing at least once a month. I will be able to guarantee musicians’ pay if necessary once we start gigging, but a certain amount of faith is needed in order to build the band to that level. We already have over an hour of material, including some jazz and funk standards with a vocalist. We just need the right keyboard player to complete the lineup so we can start booking shows and get ourselves out there!
