Looking for regular groundskeeper/yard maintenance help. Must be lover of green plants and outdoors! Want someone who cares - about maintaining a lovely 2 acre property in Happy Valley. Our goal is to make the property shine, like “bed-and-breakfast” quality grounds, and there are many facets to the outdoor landscape and terrain that will make for outdoor enjoyable work. It is a 1900 farmhouse, the oldest likely in the Happy Valley area, and one of the original farmhouses in Oregon. We are a friendly couple, who’s kids have left the nest, and there goes much of the help. We’ve hired a professional crew, but they are here for a clocked 18 minutes, and that is just scratching the surface (mowing some hills) that leave us with too much to do. You are someone who likes to see a yard, come to life. See’s irregularities in branches, weeds and areas that can be bettered or improved (we love suggestions that will improve). You like the outdoors, and you like flower gardens, vegetable gardens, and like to be given vegetables to use at home. You may have another gig (daytime job) but want to pick up extra money. Must have own transportation to get to job site and valid driver’s license. Will be needing for various projects and regular maintenance. Must be handy, in addition to operating lawn equipment with below tools and implements. 8 hours per week, spread out no more than 2 days set days per week (can work 1 set day per week). Example. Works every Saturday, or every Monday or works Tues/Friday 4 hours each day. Should be able to lift 40-50 lbs bags into wheelbarrows or carts. Have clothing gear to work in inclement weather, if drizzle/rain (it’s Portland). 8 hours per week, $25/hour. Paid weekly, cash. • Mowing yard (1.5 acres) and keeping John Deere cleaned off (blow grass, and sometimes wash mud/dirt) • Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment including o Push mower operation, gas powered o Riding mower operation, John Deere, gas powered o Weed eater, gas powered o Roto-tillers, gas powered o Hedge trimmers o Chainsaw, electric and gas powered o Pressure washer, gas powered • Hand Tools o Hoes, Weed pullers, Garden Bed hand tools o Wheelbarrows, rakes o Clipping sheers/hedge sheers o Shovels, Pick axe, • Hauling debris (drivers license needed) to recycling or dump, F-250 truck/automatic transmission provided • Cutting tree limbs/pruning, no extensive climbing (will hire out tree professionals for larger jobs) • Cutting back blackberries • Leaf raking and leave hauling • Weeding beds, gardens • Fertilizing, soil conditioning, mulching planting beds • Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting • Maintaining stained surfaces, applying stain (paint brush) to areas annually • Hosing down and washing areas, patios, porches, driveways • Hauling, and Burning debris (limbs, branches) in burn pile area (during burning season) • Applying pesticides/weed killers • Picking fruits, ladder climbing, blackberries, cherries, apples, quince Bonus points: • If you paint (brush/roller) for maintenance and touch up (example: roll a porch with deck paint, paint weathered areas of trim • Interior area cleaning: dusting, mopping of garage-gym, sweeping of shop
