Looking for a puppy or dog

We have 2 acres partially fenced.. there is a gate opening we share with neighbors that is not, but they are fully fenced so no escape route. I am looking for a canine (gender, breed, size is not a matter of choice) to be a family member. I do have kids, no other pets. Looking for a dog to stick close and hang out, mostly inside unless we are outside doing yard work. Willing to travel up to 3 hours away for the right member of our family. Rehoming fee obviously applies, but nothing over $400.
