Can you help waterproof our concrete pond?
The pond is about 150-200 sq ft. It's an irregular shape, made with concrete. It's got boulders embedded in the concrete around the edges.
Over the years, we DIY waterproofed it with FlexSeal 3 times. That works for a year or so, and then the layers start peeling off. After one of the Hayward earthquakes this spring, it got a leak somewhere too, probably along the edge of one of the boulders, where it joins with the concrete.
Here's the job:
- sandblast, scrape or grind off the old FlexSeal coating
- clean and prep the surface
- if needed, apply plaster or concrete to any large gaps
- apply *clear* Pond Shield epoxy to the whole surface
- use marine silicone caulk for any cracks that the epoxy can't fill
- wait for it all to dry
- fill the pond and confirm that it doesn't leak
If you have experience with this kind of work, you can come take a look and give us a quote. We will pay a fair price, because we want it done right :-)
Thanks for your help!
