The original poster is correct. The NRA is only a great source of campaign revenue in the same way that the oil companies are. "The people" don't matter to these politicians who allow anyone to purchase a gun, let alone a war machine with the title ASSAULT WEAPON, when it comes to garnishing campaign money in order to create propaganda based campaign commercials so that they can get into office with the promise of 'helping the people'. Any intelligent gun(s) owner knows what responsibility is. That is, we don't shoot people or allow other people to shoot people. We would never put a gun in the hand of anyone without proper training, nor would we hand a gun to anyone with dangerous mental problems. That would be insane and could possibly put me, my family, or friends in severe jeopardy. As an American, I'm happy that there are many responsible gun owners in America. Lord help anyone who tries to invade us. But watching kids or anyone, but especially kids, get slaughtered on a monthly basis by weapons of war is just puking sick. California has strict gun laws...but California also has responsible gun owners.
