Calling all makers, shakers, movers and creators. Box Factory Gallery is excited to announce its expansion into new spaces, providing artists with studios, work lounges, event spaces and a massive gallery to play with. Art Box NYC is a new collective looking for dedicated creatives with a strong practice and a desire for community, growth and endless opportunities. We’re here to make stuff, get shit done, play, support each other and succeed at making our big creative dreams come true. Art Box Studios is located in The Box Factory at 1519 Decatur Street on the border of Ridgewood and Bushwick (2 blocks from the Halsey stop of the L). Box Factory is a beautiful private building with 24/7 code-only access. The building provides WiFI, air conditioning, heat, a worklounge with a conference room, kitchenette, two event spaces and a gallery. The bottom floor event space is 3,500 sq ft and is used as a theater (with lighting and chairs), dance and rehearsal space, concert venue, space for classes and lectures, movie screening room etc. The upstairs event space is 7,000 sq ft and is used for larger events of that sort. Box Factory Gallery inhabits the lobby and offers 15 ft ceilings and 4,000 sq ft of gallery space. Convince you yet? Who we are looking for: We are looking for awesome badass creatives who are interested in growing their career, their network and giving back to the community. We are looking for visual artists, digital artists, installation artists, designers, fabricators, writers, and musicians (digital/ you can use headphones and pirate music studios is in the building for recording) who can attend one meeting every week to discuss personal and group projects. We ask each member to do 1-2 hours of admin stuff a week so we can make some good stuff happen. What you get at Art Box: Members get studio space and access to the worklounge, rehearsal space/ theater and an opportunity to showcase work in our gallery twice a year. In addition, you will have opportunities to curate art exhibits, submit your own work or with a curator to host a solo show. The venue spaces are also at your disposal to throw events, classes, lectures and more.
