The Greenwich Art Society at theGREENWICH HOSPITAL GARDEN CAFÉ JEAN-MARC BARA EXHIBITION MAY THROUGH DECEMBER 2022 Greenwich Hospital Garden Cafe5 Perryridge Rd., Greenwich, CT8:30AM – 3:30PM daily Photograher Jean-Marc Bara is French by birth, Brazilian by upbringing and schooling, and American in my values. My wife, Marianne, is Chinese, and our son, Patrick, was born in Brazil. We reside in Greenwich, CT. An optimistic and multi-cultural view of the world informs his photography. His friends know he is borderline obsessive about order and organization. Photography, for him, is also a way to continue to learn about, organize and simplify the world around him. This is his first solo exhibition.Three main themes have driven the selection of works:Silhouettes - Street photography abstractions driven by light and moment.Encounters with my Childhood - The heroes of my childhood, Tintin and Snowy, in the form of small plastic figurines, photographed locally in various cities during my travels. The photos also capture the pedestrians that happened to have been in the scene that I am photographing.Abstracts - One series of wall corners and a series featuring color. All works are printed on aluminum with the CromaLuxe process."In my street photography, rather than directing, I enjoy capturing candid moments that are interesting, funny or have the viewer ask questions and at the same time, result in a formal and aesthetically pleasing frame. I like American contemporary photographer Alex Soth's wording of the key ingredients: Light, Moment, and Magic.", Jean-March Bara.Other themes that drive my photography are abstraction and minimalism.Since 2011 he has exhibited in local, national, and, more recently, international shows.All works can be purchased by contacting the Greenwich Art society at 203-629-1533between 9:30 am and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday or by emailing [email protected]
