Kids

15 June, 2022

Description

Join Leah Osborne, M.Ed, Early Childhood Specialist, to learn how to create an environment that will enable you to reconnect with kids after possible COVID trauma. COVID changed many regular classroom and home routines, which is stressful for young children. In this session, Leah will lead you to re-imagine basic classroom structures and routines that are focused on creating the safe and predictable environments necessary for kids to heal. Establishing safe, predictable structures help children feel safe and connected with their teachers. This connection creates a willingness to comply with teacher/caregiver requests in a healthy way. The session will cover topics like visual schedules, high positive feedback ratios, and direct teaching of social skills and will conclude with some action planning time so you will know exactly how you can implement new strategies. Part two of Rebuilding and Reconnecting will be held on Thursday, July 14th. Part two will be a follow up to the first session, allow for reflection, and will cover additional strategies and supports. Attendance at both sessions is not required. Register for session two HERE. NOTE: This session takes place in person at Bridges to Growth, 805 W. University Ave, Georgetown, TX. The class is for adult participants. Mask optional. Please follow the CDC's guidelines for COVID infection and exposure.
