WEST CHESTER, PA - Nearly six years after a woman was found dead in a pond on Memorial Day in northern Chester County, the investigation is still active, officials said Friday.
A fisherman found the body of Ryan Stevyn Benjamin, 24, on May 30, 2016, under a bridge off Zieber Road, which crosses Pigeon Creek in East Coventry Township.
Her body was tied to a cinder block near a pipe under the bridge.
District Attorney Deborah S. Ryan said the investigation is active and requested that anyone with information contact the Chester County District Attorney's office.
Benjamin was living with a friend in neighboring East Vincent Township and working as a prekindergarten teacher at a nearby day care.
Benjamin graduated in 2013 from Juniata College with a degree in elementary education and early childhood education.
She taught second grade as a student teacher during the spring semester in 2013 and worked at the campus post office in Juniata.
