Founder Samantha Hoff honors a Jewish lineage of courageous community leaders by donating funds to support mental wellbeing of children affected by Ukraine war NEEDHAM, Massachusetts – Pottery With a Purpose Founder Samantha Hoff celebrates Jewish American History Month by honoring her own Jewish heritage, designating the Ukraine-based Voices of Children Foundation to receive a portion of online proceeds. As a female entrepreneur actively working to support mental wellness through a curated collection of eco-conscious DIY adult clay sculpting kits, Hoff bravely advances the conversation about improving community/individual mental wellbeing. From May 1st through July 31st, Pottery With a Purpose will donate 5% of its profits to the Foundation, which provides art therapy and other means of psychological/psychosocial support to Ukrainian children affected by the war. Hoff’s own Jewish American heritage includes a long line of caring community leaders and fearless females forging a better life. Her grandpa, Joseph Wolfson, served as a founding board member of Temple Beth Elohim near Hoff’s hometown of Needham, MA. Joseph’s wife - also an active member at the temple - began her career in 1966 as one of the first female stock brokers in New England. Hoff’s maternal great-grandmother, Ukraine-born Lillian Greenberg, immigrated to the US alongside her mother and brothers in 1914 at the start of WWI when she was just 17 years old. She became an official American citizen in 1944. Now, Hoff channels pieces of her own personal history and experience living with mental illness into collaborating with other like-minded female entrepreneurs/non-profit leaders.
