Doylestown 5K: What To Know For Saturday's Race

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Ready to run? Memorial Day Weekend is upon us, and forecasters predict a sunny day for the 29th annual Doylestown 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday. The Doylestown race is the fourth in the Bucks 5K series. For information on Monday's big event, the Memorial Day parade, click here. Parking, registration, and start times The one-mile run begins at 9 a.m., and the 5K at 9:30 a.m. The parking lot of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel closes at 8:30 a.m. on race day. Recommended parking is at the Bucks County Parking garage (228 N. Broad St.) or free parking at the Bucks County Library (150 S. Pine Street). The borough has not announced street closures yet for the 5K. Packet pick-up and registration are Friday from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday from 7-9:15 a.m. at Burpee Park. Race day registration is $45 for the 5K, and $15 for the one-mile run. Road closures were announced last week, and are in effect from 8 a.m. until noon. Carmel Church and ending in the heart of the borough, on State Street. The "challenging and family-friendly" course goes up Linden Avenue to Creek Drive, wending over to Chestnut Drive for a bit until turning around and coming back the same way. Winners of each age group, and the age-graded master winners, will receive awards. The one-mile course is an "out and back trip down Maple Avenue finishing in the OLMC parking lot to a cheering crowd." All fun runners will get prizes. Proceeds from the Doylestown 5K benefit the Doylestown Business and Community Alliance (Discover Doylestown), and Our Lady of Mount Carmel School.
