Here are the top five stories today in Toledo: Central Catholic canceled classes Friday after a 16-year-old allegedly made threats via text message to another student. The youth in question was arrested at his home without incident. (WTOL)Toledo parents Matthew Marx and Paulina Valdivia pleaded guilty to reckless homicide after starving their three-month-old daughter to death. Originally indicted in October, sentencing for both is set for June 15. (WTVG)Toledo Police responded to reports of a man shot on East Park Street near Hartman around 2 a.m. Friday in North Toledo. No suspects are in custody and anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers. (WTOL)Owens Community College has been designated as of Ohio's Collegiate Purple Star Campuses. Owens has a long history of serving veterans and is one of 33 Ohio schools to receive the honor. (BG Independent Media)Swanton man Thomas Harmon Fulton, 66, has been charged with vehicular homicide for the 2020 crash that killed 9-year-old Jackson Weis. The accident occurred after Fulton ran a stop sign on Angola Road near County Road 1 in Fulton County. The school is updating its safety precautions after the devastating shooting in Uvalde, Texas earlier this week. (WTOL)Neighbors say a vacant house on Prouty Avenue in South Toledo has become a dumping ground of sorts, even for those who do not live in the area. Several people say they have reached out to the City of Toledo without success. (WTVG)Three custom cars worth an estimated $500,000 were stolen from Powerworks Performance in Westland, MI. The vehicles were recovered intact in Toledo thanks to the help of volunteers dedicated to tracking stolen vehicles who work with the Toledo Police Department. (FOX 2 Detroit)Shaquan Brown has been sentenced up to 36 years in prison for the murder of Teresa Ratliff. Brown shot Ratliff at the Regina Manor Apartments on N. Erie Street in Toledo in March 2021.
