Captain Marty Sellers, co-commander of the unit, said the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded at about 12:30 a.m. to the scene for a domestic violence call, where they found that a 29-year-old man and his 34-year-old girlfriend had been involved in an argument when the woman armed herself with a knife. The boyfriend, Sellers said, then retrieve a handgun and left the residence, prompting his girlfriend — later identified Lachrisha Fitzpatrick — to get into a vehicle and begin driving toward him. "He got off the road but she followed and continued to try to run over him," Sellers said. The man reportedly fired shots to try to stop Fitzpatrick, who sustained an injury not believed to be life-threatening. Sellers said she then left the scene but eventually came back. Fitzpatrick was charged with attempted murder and DUI. She was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where her bond was set at $55,000.
