MERRICK, NY — Molloy College is changing its status next season to a university. But, not before holding the 2022 graduation, led by valedictorian Alexandra Fiederlein. As a guest on Friday's "Patch AM," Fiederlein talked about her plans for the future. She's been a volunteer doula with hopes of opening her own birthing center for moms with unmedicated births. "That's what I'm passionate about," Fiederlein, of Merrick, said. "That's what I want to set goals on." She's worked with the mothers-to-be at NYU Winthrop "for emotional and physical support and really being there for her during a difficult experience." While Fiederlein, 21, is intelligent and has her career well thought out, she knows that doesn't make it a simple endeavor. "The way of getting there is a little bit tricky that I still have to figure out the path," she admitted. "I certainly don't have it all figured out yet." Check out the full Patch AM interview with Fiederlein below.
