Experienced Gardener needed for local gardens maintenance (small biz) Do you have prior gardening, planting, landscaping, irrigation, or permaculture experience? Looking for a satisfyingly demanding physically active job as an independent contractor with flexible outdoor summer hours? Do you work well both independently + with a small team? Are you self-directed, positive, progressive, high vibe, detail orientated, take pride in your work, commitment, and follow through? Flexible schedule allows you to have your own life and still work reliably part time. Work on your own or on a team of 2, moving from project to project throughout the day. Work days are typically a half day (3-5hr) or a full day (8hr). We can use help full time or part time. You'll be outside this summer, and learn a lot while getting a lot done-- does that inspire you? *Please be aware this is not a gentle horticultural past-time, this is labor intensive work on a paid schedule with the benefit of learned wisdom and great comaraderie.* Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and independents who want to supplement their budget. Each project is unique! Previous experience is required. Knowledge of basic local plant species and weeds is required. Tasks include (but are not limited to): -- Maintenance (Weeding, Trimming, Shaping, Bagging, Cleaning Up) -- Installations (Digging, Planting (flowers, shrubs, small trees), Transplanting, Cleaning Debris) -- Materials like carrying soil bags, or moving piles of soil with shovels and wheelbarrows, spreading mulch or small stones, laying weedmat, working with drip lines, etc. Please only apply if you love gardens and hard work, enjoy assisting, take direction well, are a mindful aware individual, are used to working independently, and can commit to a late-summer to early-fall season (Aug-Nov). -- Must have a working cell phone for text and a reliable data plan for continual scheduling and communication on the go. -- Must have reliable transportation. Bonus if you happen to have a work truck. -- Must have, borrow, or be willing to buy a few necessary hand tools of trade: hand clippers, hori hand-trowel, long shears, and/or branch clippers, and shovel.
