O'Brien Brothers, an area leader in real estate development, has an immediate opening for a Construction Technician to work in our Warranty Department. This role is responsible for handling all construction related warranty requests from new homeowners during the warranty period. We are looking for a Construction Technician with a strong work ethic, professional appearance and good over all knowledge of all trades to join our work family. This position includes a Sign On Bonus of $2000 which will be paid to the right candidate over the course of the first four weeks of employment! Typical assignments include: Repair of sheetrock cracks Repair of over seeding lawns Adjusting doors Caulking and painting trim separations Touch up paint Cleaning Window adjustments Porch and deck repairs Minor carpentry and construction activities such as building stairs for decks and porches Installing railings Physical and Mental Job Requirements: Ability to interact with subcontractors and homeowners in a professional and courteous manner Maintain a professional appearance Ability to lift 40-50lbs regularly Achieves O’Brien Brothers warranty cycle time for all completed warranty work Ability to perform general carpentry, painting, sheetrock, mudding and taping and janitorial duties as needed Continuously: Climbing ladders, balancing, handling, make minor decisions requiring limited judgment Frequently: Lifting, carrying, standing, walking, climbing stairs, sustained bending, overhead reaching, repeated squatting, crouching, kneeling Responsibilities: Obtain a work order from the Warranty and Customer Service Manager with details on the day's job(s) Use good judgement when repairing an item, make sure your job site is clean and protect any surroundings as needed during the repair process Educate the homeowner on home maintenance items as necessary Always keep a clean job site inside and outside the home Working Conditions and Environment Drive to and from new homeowners’ homes every day Work outside in all weather conditions (heat and cold) Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Health savings account Paid time off Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: Signing bonus Ability to commute/relocate: South Burlington, VT 05403: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Education: High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: Painting: 2 years (Required) Construction and/or Maintenance: 2 years (Required) General Carpentry: 2 years (Required) License/Certification: Driver's License (Required) Work Location: One location
