This position includes a $2000 Sign on Bonus paid to the right candidate over the course of the first four weeks of employment! The Maintenance Technician will conduct general maintenance and repairs of buildings and grounds for residential and commercial properties within the greater Burlington area. JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the timely completion of work order and maintenance requests as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Tracks time and costs associated with the maintenance service requests. Prepares vacant apartments for re-occupancy by repairing, painting or replacing items. Ensures that safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, State and Federal requirements. Uses effective human relations skills, shows empathy and communicates effectively both with verbal and written communication Cleaning of the community buildings, laundry rooms, office building, maintenance shop and grounds and keeping all areas clean and sanitary Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area with one to five years of verifiable hands-on general maintenance experience (i.e., plumbing, janitorial, electrical, carpeting, and painting, etc.) Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and the corresponding safety precautions, including VOSHA regulations, necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Basic PC knowledge and utilization of email correspondence. Valid drivers’ license along with good driving record and auto insurance. Because work entails considerable interaction with a vulnerable population, a criminal background check is a requirement of hire. WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions primarily involve physical labor and vary depending on projects, can be outdoors or indoors. Work may require weekend and evening work.
