They are not cheap! ************ Pekingese are an ancient breed of toy dogs originating in China. They were favored by royals of the Chinese Imperial court. Most precious of all the palace dogs was the sleeve Pekingese. Sleeves are smaller than the typical Pekingese. Sleeve Pekingese were carried around in the long flowing sleeves of the Emperor, Empress or other members of the Royal family. They were most likely used as hand and foot warmers in the cold palaces
