We are seeking a Construction Runner to efficiently move materials and equipment to and from jobsites, perform initial site preparations and clean up. You should some knowledge of construction materials and the ability to maintain a clean and organized shop, tools, equipment, and job site. This is a fast-paced position with an early morning start time. Benefits - Health insurance - Paid time off - Dental insurance - 401(k) - Referral program - Professional development assistance Major responsibilities include: - Loading, transporting, and delivering materials to jobsites in a safe, timely manner. - Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure accuracy. - Assisting Lead Carpenters or Project Managers with material handling, site preparations and determining schedule of deliveries and/or returns. - Mobilizing dump trailers to sites and trash transfer facility, maintenance of shop, tool organization and repair, and job site clean up. Specific Duties: - Pick up and deliver project related material - Pull material in and out of inventory to minimize the total inventory - Organize, clean, and repair all tools and equipment so they are always in proper operating condition - Help maintain a running log of location of all Harth Builders tools and equipment - Deliver site preparation materials to job sites on start dates; set up site preparation materials, including job site signs, floor coverings and dust walls - Perform project clean up near completion of project and return reusable items to shop - Correctly and safely drive a cargo van with a trailer attached, including dumping at a trash transfer facility - Responsible for accurately completing an electronic timecard daily. - Perform all assigned tasks to the best of your ability. Your conscientious performance is extremely important as it reflects on the quality of the entire company. - Be responsible for your own safety as well as the safety of your coworkers. - Always behave in a professional manner. Report any unsafe conditions to the Lead Carpenter or Project Manager. Job Requirements Education – High School Graduate Experience - Minimum of six months in some type of construction. Knowledge - Basic knowledge of residential construction and remodeling tools, equipment and materials. - Minimal ability to read blueprints. - Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to take and compute measurements. - Able to safely tow and back up a trailer Interpersonal and Communications Skills - Able to understand verbal and written instructions and respond to emails and texts messages. - Adept at establishing relationships with all parties involved in the construction process that facilitate harmonious working relationships during project and permit prompt resolution of problems and conflicts as they occur. - Conducts themselves with integrity - Organizational Skills - Able to organize tasks for completion alone or with help. - Able to complete and fulfill paperwork required for personal time sheets and other checklists and documents. - Able to self-manage - Able to route correctly to prioritize deadlines, while also functioning in labor and fuel savings Problem Solving - Able to tell when to ask for help. Working Conditions - 75% of time is spent working at job sites. Driving is required. Physical - Requires ability to climb ladders for heights of up to 60 feet and crawl for distances of 50 feet. - Ability to work with tools, lumber, and materials. - Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required. Hazards - Normal hazards associated with construction environment. Compensation - Commensurate with experience.
