Description

Position at Hamtramck bulk liquids terminal loading and unloading bulk liquids transported via trucks and rail tank cars. Duties also include performing tank gauging, sampling, and maintenance on piping, valves, and pumps of tanks and other equipment. Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or dragging hoses and related equipment of up to 50 lbs, climbing tanks up to 35 feet high.  Must be able to work outside in any/all weather conditions, and be able and willing to work up to 10 hour days and occasional weekends in the winter.   Sterling Services is willing to train someone with good math skills who is reliable, responsible, and able to follow detailed instructions and perform tasks assigned by supervisor in a safe and conscientious manner. Ideal candidate will be able to understand, work, and adhere to all safety and regulatory requirements.  Skills in paperwork organization, computer program basic use, commonsense, and with a willingness to ask questions a big plus. Candidate will need to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol testing.  Commercial Driving License (CDL) a big plus but not necessary. High School Graduate or GED Required.
