Description
Available for adoption now are a male and a female leopard gecko who were rescued about 1 year ago, and after a long recovery, are fully recovered and needing forever homes! Geckos can live to 20, so please understand the time commitment to your new family member. 1 female, estimated age approx 5-8, who was very malnourished and had dropped part of her tale and has lost some toes due to stuck shed. Fully recovered, eats well! Needs a patient owner who will be gentle and calm while handling. She is eating a good rotation of mealworms, wax worms, and crickets. 1 male, estimated age approx 8-10, with jaw deformity due to malnourishment (does not hinder eating) and has lost some toes due to stuck shed. Fully recovered, eats well! Needs a patient owner who will be gentle and calm while handling. He is eating a good rotation of mealworms, wax worms, and crickets. As these are rescues, they are best served in homes of people who have experience in exotic animal husbandry and have a suitable enclosure. But willing to discuss options with an educated first time owner who is realistic expectations. These geckos have been living in a separate bioactive enclosures for several months and would appreciate a like set up, but not necessary. Please respond with photos of the set up you already have and would like to house the gecko in, as well as an overview of leopard gecko heat, humidity, light, food, supplement, and care requirements. Also outline your understanding of common health issues to watch out for. NOTE! Must be houses separately. Ok to go to one home, but must show the two separate enclosures that meet requirements. Will not rehome to colony set ups. These are older geckos and due to previous health issues, they are best houses independently. Donations to cover rehabilitation costs appreciated so we can continue to offer this care to other rescues, and to help us establish our non-profit gecko rescue, but not required. We do ensure the geckos are being rehomed to properly educated homes who will continue care. All rescues can be returned with no questions asked if it doesn't work out. For information on proper leopard gecko care, here is a great resource to get started! https://reptifiles.com/leopard-gecko-care/ Not required to adopt a gecko, but, if you are in need of a 40 gallon set up, we do have a few available for sale. You could pick up, take home and get the tank set up, and then arrange to pick up the gecko later. 1 empty with a screen top, and stand. $60. You would need to get heat, and interior all set up. 1 not-empty, that is a fully set up bioactive enclosure with stand, with heat and humidity sensors built into the enclosure.
