Responsibilities/ Duties The Painter coordinates and performs the preparation and application of exterior and interior finishes at various sites. Prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting or other means as necessary. Mixes, matches, and blends various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and special protective coatings to achieve the desired color, consistency, and drying properties. Caulks, putties, cements or plasters holes and cracks. Paints using a brush, roller, spray gun or other applicators. Prepares wall and hangs paper or other wall covering material. Ability to determine and clearly identify proper materials and material quantities for new and existing projects. Qualifications At least 5 years of painting experience in commercial and residential painting/construction Experience in operating spray machines, compressors, Knowledge of paints, varnishes, stains, enamels, lacquers, and primers from a variety of different manufacturers.
