Intro to the Wood Lathe

In class we will go over the many facets of wood turning and get some hands-on experience on the lathe. Then students will schedule a one-on-one session to make their bottle stopper with instructor. Class Length: 1-1/2 hours Min/max registrations: 1-6 Prerequisites: None Instructor bio: Rick has been turning for over 20 years and has served as a mentor and board member of several local chapters of the American Association of Wood Turners. He currently demonstrates at various art fairs to make tops for kids. He is very interested in furthering your interest in wood turning! Important Information  COVID-19: To keep everyone safe; optional mask-wearing (can provide), hand sanitizing (at entrances), and social distancing are encouraged at Makerspace. Maximum class size has been reduced to allow for social distancing. Class fees: All class fees include materials. If you are a current Bellingham Makerspace member or scheduled volunteer you may select the discounted member registration. Some instructors offer scholarship discounts and volunteers may be eligible for training discounts. Cancellations: All classes have a minimum number of participants. If the instructor specified number is not reached 24hrs before the class is scheduled to start, the class will be cancelled and any registrations refunded (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). Refund policy: You may request a refund from Eventbrite no later than 24hrs before the class starts (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). After that point instructors and participants are committed and we won't be able to provide any refunds. Other FAQs When and where to arrive? Park near Dick's Sporting Goods. You can enter the wood shop from the cargo bay between Dick's and JC Penney's or enter the mall through Dick's. We are the first door on the right.What to bring/not to bring?
