Rune-Making with Artist Lauren Sievers

In this workshop, Lauren will give a brief introduction to the history of runes and review the meaning of each character. Each participant will receive enough porcelain clay to create their own rune set (25 stones). Come prepared to get a little messy and explore the world of runes! All the necessary tools to carve runes into your hand-formed stones will be provided. (If you would like to bring your own apron, feel free to do so, although the porcelain clay will not stain clothing.) All finished runes will be left with Lauren to be fired in her kiln. Participants will be notified when their finished runes will be available for pick up at Studio Colfax (approximately two weeks later). Note: Lauren will also be offering rune sets with gold-backed characters for an additional $45. You may add this option at checkout. Free parking next door at the Maaco Auto Parking lot. --------- About the Artist: Lauren Sievers has been working in the ceramic arts for the last nine years. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics and has a minor in Nordic Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021. Lauren's body of work explores the origins of the self through material and place. A collection of her work is sold in store.
