Our emergency medical services (EMS) truly began in the Vail area in 1967 but it wasn't fully official for another 15 years. On April 20, 1982, Eagle County voters chose to create the Eagle County Emergency Services Hospital District, also known as Eagle County Ambulance District; on June 1, 1982, the District became official.
Today, we operate out of five stations with more than 80 employees. We're proud to celebrate this milestone anniversary and will be hosting an anniversary bash on Thursday, June 23 from 5-8 p.m. at Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle. We'll have live music, a food truck and lawn games. We encourage employees past and present and those in the community who have supported us for the past 40+ years to join us to celebrate. Here's to many more decades of service!
