NEW LONDON, CT — Police have issued a statement following a shooting at an elementary school in Texas: "Incidents such as the one which occurred in Uvalde, Texas affects us all. This attack, like others before it, has left many of us feeling vulnerable, distressed, angry, sad and/or afraid. "Parents' base fears about the safety and wellbeing of their children are escalated in all corners of our society. Nothing can or will ever make sense of these horrific acts. "It's important to talk about things that may weigh heavy on our mind. Young or elder, we all need some sort of assistance at some point. Make sure you get the support you may need. Mental health is as important as physical health."
