NAUGATUCK, CT — There will be a strong police presence at Naugatuck schools at least for Wednesday following the shooting in Uvalde, Texas that left at least 19 students and two adults dead at an elementary school.
In a post on the department's Facebook page Tuesday night, police addressed the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas.
"The Naugatuck Police Department stands with Uvalde, Texas in their time of grief and tragedy," the post reads. "At this time, the mass shooting appears to be an isolated incident, however the safety of our community is of utmost importance. Therefore, a strong police presence will be seen throughout all of our schools. We do this not to cause fear or unease, but to provide reassurance and continue in our commitment of keeping our community safe."
