Wanted For Arson: Police Release Image Of Suspect In Downtown Fire

PORT CHESTER, NY — Police are looking for the public's help finding a suspect wanted in connection with an early morning arson this month. The unidentified man intentionally lit two garbage cans on fire on East Broadway and West Chester Avenue in Port Chester, according to an alert issued by the Port Chester Police Department. The Port Chester Police Department released an image of the wanted man, described as Hispanic, who was caught on a security camera shortly before starting the fire, officials said. The fire set was set just after 4:30 a.m. on May 8, near East Broadway in Port Chester. The suspect was seen crossing the street on lower Westchester Avenue before walking westward and making a left onto East Broadway. He then walked approximately 50 feet down East Broadway and lit the garbage bins on fire, according to investigators. Police said that the bins were completely engulfed by flames and destroyed. After lighting the garbage bins on fire, officials said that the suspect continued southward on East Broadway before disappearing.
