Description
SALEM, MA — The public is invited to a Pride flag raising in Salem's Riley Plaza on June 1 at noon.
The flag-raising is in partnership with the LGBTQIA+ community leaders, advocates, activists and allies.
"Pride Month is an opportunity to memorialize members of the LGBTQIA+ community who have been lost and who are still dying or living in peril, to reaffirm Salem's diversity, acceptance, and inclusion of people of all identities, and to acknowledge and support the ongoing fight for full equality and freedom from discrimination," city officials said.
"Salem raises the Pride flags each June as an affirmation of our shared humanity and the value of respecting and celebrating each person's own identity."
