Foxboro Officers Arrest Driver After Police Chase Through Wrentham

FOXBORO, MA — The Foxboro Police Department credits the quick-thinking and hard work of two officers who were able to stop a car chase through Wrentham and into Foxboro early Tuesday morning. Around 3 a.m., dispatchers alerted the Foxboro Police Department of a low-speed vehicle pursuit first initiated by the Wrentham Police Department that was approaching Foxboro on Route 140. Officers Steve Hole and Brendan Fayles positioned themselves near the rotary in the center of town, blocking off traffic coming northbound into the rotary to keep other cars away from the fleeing vehicle, police said. As the car came close to the rotary, Hole was able to deploy tire deflation devices, otherwise known as Stop Sticks onto the roadway. Police say the fleeing vehicle drove over the sticks, causing two flat tires and the driver to stop. According to a statement from Foxboro police, the pursuit ended there, with a man from Connecticut being arrested by Wrentham Officers. "All Foxborough cruisers are equipped with stop sticks and all of our staff have been trained in their use," the Foxboro Police Department said on Facebook. "Though their usage is rare, we are glad to see that a dangerous incident was able to be ended safely and successfully." The man's name has not yet been released. No additional information was immediately available.
