Description

How do you build a better relationship between your historic site/organization and the community you live in? What are the best practices for bringing different people and perspectives to the table and how can you design programs by, with, and for the members of your community? If you are asking these questions, we've got answers! Join us for the first program in our three-part Revolution NJ Public History Workshop Series: Engaging Communities. The workshop will be presented by Sarah Pharoan, Principal, Dialogic Consulting. This free event will be in-person with registration capped at 40 people. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Recordings and material from the workshop will be available later for those who cannot join in-person. Save the date for the next workshops in the series! Workshop II: Uncovering Voices, July 13, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen's Museum in Tuckerton, NJ.Workshop III: Captivating Stories and Experiences, August (date and time to be announced), at Liberty Hall Museum in Elizabeth, NJ.Revolution NJ is a partnership between the New Jersey Historical Commission (NJHC), a division of the New Jersey Department of State, and the nonprofit organization Crossroads of the American Revolution Association (Crossroads) to plan the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in New Jersey.
