BOSTON — On its way from Boston to Kansas City Wednesday evening, Delta Air Lines flight 5637 sent out a code 7700 — the code for a general emergency — before diverting to and eventually landing in Pittsburgh, a source said.
After sending the emergency alert, pilots first diverted the flight to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The alert was due to "cabin pressure issues," a Hopkins spokesperson told Patch.
A spokesperson for Pittsburgh International Airport said the flight reported "possible mechanical issues and diverted to [Pittsburgh] as a precaution."
The flight landed safely.
