BOSTON — Three people were taken to nearby hospitals early Tuesday morning after a stabbing at a gas station in Mattapan, Boston police said.
"There [were] two ladies who came in, and they were fighting right there, and after a while, it went outside," gas station clerk Ewart Smit told WCVB.
When police arrived, they found an injured woman and Boston EMS took her to a hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening, officials said.
Police later found the 22-year-old suspect, Quasaia Smith of Dorchester, in a car nearby with a young child. Smith was taken into custody and the child was taken to Boston Children's Hospital for a check-up.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday at a Mobil Gas Station on Blue Hill Avenue and North Street.
An officer was also taken to a nearby hospital, police said.
No further information was immediately available.
