Description
HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — Can you bake a great berry pie? Then enter it in Highland Park's Berry Pie contest this Friday, May 27!
Amateur bakers are invited to the Highland Park Farmers' Market to compete by bringing their best berry pie. Drop off your best pie by 3:15 p.m. this Friday at 212 Raritan Avenue in Highland Park. The contest is free to enter. You also have to fill out this form to accompany your pie: https://www.mainstreethp.org/b...
Pies submitted after 3:15 p.m. will not be accepted.
Please bring pies sufficiently covered or in a closed container. No canned fillings or pre-made crusts are allowed. Says the farmer's market:
"Pies must have berries as a necessary ingredient. By 'berries' we're referring to the colloquial term as opposed to the botanical term. Judges are TBA for now but expect three judges."
The prize will be a Farmers Market Tote filled with an item from each vendor. Email [email protected] or call 732-828-8444 for any questions (leave a message if sent to voicemail).
(Note: You are required to share your recipe, so no keeping any family recipes a closely guarded secret. We can't have judges eat anything without knowing the contents. The winning recipe may be shared with the public. Pies without recipes will not be accepted. You may bring your recipe in hard copy instead of submitting it digitally.
If you're using a reusable dish, use a sticker (or masking tape) listing your name and phone number ON THE BOTTOM of the dish. All dishes will be available for pick-up right after the contest.
