Issa Fish Fry! Issa Cookout! It's Our DollaVersary! On Saturday, June 11, 2022 we will celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Your Dolla Sto LLC’! Your 1st DollaVersary will bring the community together in love, inspiration, and unity hoping to inspire people of all ages to be the change in their communities. We will celebrate all day long from 9am to 7 pm with Fish Fry/Grilled FoodLocal Vendors Exhibitions, and more. Live Music & Open MicBrian has partnered with Cre of “Vibing With Cre” formerly known as “CreSpeaksMedia” host & coordinate the talent segment from the hours of 2pm -7pm to highlight some of the dopest local talent with featured and open mic acts throughout the late afternoon. Cre is being assisted with talent booking by Sarah Trowbridge and her colleageues from & PA from At The Addition are assisting with Sound & PA. We are excited to have Cynthia Hardy as a special guest and we are looking forward to seeing many leaders from the community ranging from local politicians and local press! Our Back StoryIn 2021 Brian Thomas had a vision to help his community thrive where he saw so many people in the Booker T Community struggling to get access to basic needs in the midst of a pandemic. The stores were often out of toilet paper, water, & the produce was low. Brian always had a dream of opening up his own store when he was just a high school kid. He saw the need to give the community a Black-owned dollar store outside of corporate options. In June 1989, Brian Thomas's father built a three-unit building at 3017 Farrow Road in Columbia. 32 years later Brian decided to continue the legacy and build a dollar store. Since then, Brain has supplied such a huge need in the community as a store that offers a variety of household staples,snacks, food, and he pushed the envelope further: Your Dolla Sto LLC’ serves a space where local entrepreneurs can sell their goods ranging from skincare products, T-shirts, supplements, & even connected with local farmers to provide fresh produce at a rate cheaper than most grocery stores.
