MARIETTA, GA — As we move away from the Christmas holiday, some residents may be looking to remove their Christmas trees. There are three ways to remove your trees in Marietta. Live Christmas trees are accepted in the city of Marietta's special waste collection, which must be scheduled by individual residents through the city's public works portal. Bulk waste should be placed on the curb by 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day; however, no solid waste or bulk waste collection will take place Jan. 1. As part of the Keep Cobb Beautiful initiative, Marietta residents can drop off Christmas trees at the following locations through Jan. 9, 2021: Fullers Park, 3499 Robins Road, MariettaSewell Park, 2055 Lower Roswell Road, MariettaHome Depot, 2350 Dallas Highway, MariettaHome Depot, 3605 Sandy Plains Road, MariettaHome Depot, 4101 Roswell Road NE, Marietta At Home Depot locations, Georgians can only recycle fir, pine, cedar or cypress live Christmas trees. All trees must be free of lights and ornaments, and no flocked trees will be allowed. According to PickYourOwnChristmasTree.org, most Home Depot locations across the state will accept trees for recycling. Big John's Christmas Trees will also provide tree recycling and removal services for varying prices depending on the tree size: Eight feet or less: $50 Eight feet to nine feet: $60 Nine feet to 10 feet: $70 All trees over 10 feet tall will be individually priced Only cash or checks are accepted, and the cut-off date for removal and recycling is Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021.
