Description
LOS GATOS, CA — The Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District is seeking participants to be on the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee.
The committee would review expenditure reports and ensure funds related to Measure A — a district parcel tax that voters passed in 2011 — are properly spent.
The $49 per parcel tax was designed to provide a source of funding that is locally controlled for the district. Part of the measure stated that there would be a "process for independent citizen oversight" established.
Measure A funds are supposed to be spent to: support core academic programs, attract and retain highly qualified teachers, maintain college and career preparatory programs and provide classroom materials like books.
In 2016, voters extended Measure A through 2025.
Applications to join the seven-member committee are due June 30. Click here to apply and here for more information.
