EAST PALO ALTO, CA — One person died when a car crashed into a tree Monday night in East Palo Alto, according to reports. A car traveling at a high speed crashed around 8 p.m. Monday and split in half on University Avenue, near Bay Road, multiple media outlets reported. The driver died at the scene, according to reports. University Avenue was closed, authorities said. The driver was the only vehicle occupant, Interim Police Chief Jeff Liu told Bay Area News Group.
