HAMTRAMCK, MI — A man was recovering after he told police he was shot Thursday morning on Interstate 75 in Hamtramck, Michigan State Police said. The 30-year-old man told troopers he was driving in Downtown Detroit near 555 Brush Street when he noticed a black Dodge Durango following him, officials said. He pulled into a Speedway gas station and let the Durango pass by, before entering northbound Interstate 375, officials said. The man then made his way onto the exit lane for Caniff Street on Interstate 75 at 12:30 a.m. when he said the driver of the Durango pulled up next to him and fired multiple shots, striking the man, officials said. The victim then said he turned around and began driving toward Henry Ford Hospital, but his car broke down on West Grand Boulevard, officials said. He then flagged down another vehicle who took him to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition on Thursday morning. State troopers closed down the freeway for several hours, but did not find any evidence of the shooting during a preliminary investigation, officials said. Anyone with information was asked to call 734-287-5000 or 800 Crime Stoppers.
