I have a small simple business recovering and selling used furniture in Ithaca. I need someone to help clean and prepare merchandise for sale. Pay starts at $20 per hour. Prove yourself a reliable and productive worker that allows my business to grow and prosper and in 6 months you will get raise. You get paid cash at the end of every shift normally. I'm also open to other methods or arrangements of payment or barter. To begin with shifts with be 2-4 hours long, once or twice a week, but the work available will increase as your efforts produce more merchandise ready for sale and increase business. This could easily turn into a part time or full time job, or even an opportunity to partially own a local business. Willing to work around your schedule and arrange shifts when it's convenient for you so long as you can work regularly and weekly. Also, transportation can be provided at no cost to you so long as you're willing to work off the gas used to give you rides (usually an extra 20 minutes per shift if you live in town). Experience required is simply the ability to clean dirty furniture efficiently. Items will not be completely filthy, trashed, or in need of restoration. We're talking about stuff that college students leave behind at the end of the year or things people no longer want to keep in storage. Professional/work experience cleaning is great, but even if you're just good at doing chores or are an "obsessive" cleaner then you have skills that are valuable for this work. Other valuable related work experience includes housecleaning, housekeeping (home or hotel), maintenance/custodial/janitorial work, etc. Should know how or can learn to use a household powered spotcleaner for upholstery. I'm not looking to be anyone's boss. What I am looking for is someone to build a mutually beneficial working relationship with.
