POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the cleanliness, repair, and maintenance of the facility and grounds at the Delaware Family YMCA. Hires, trains, and supervises department staff. This is a full-time position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Maintains and repairs building systems and structures, including HVAC, plumbing, roof, and electrical. 2. Monitors and implements the preventative maintenance schedule. Monitors all building equipment and property to ensure regular service and operation at peak efficiency. 3. Responsible for the cleanliness of the facility and grounds. Performs housekeeping and custodial tasks. Oversees and monitors work completed by contacted service providers. 4. Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies. 5. Monitors, implements, and enforces department protocol to clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces. Ensures PPE compliance. 6. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Monitors the work of contractors. 7. Manages and monitors the annual operating budget for the department. 8. Maintains building exterior, adjacent grounds, and parking area, including snow removal. 9. Operates and maintains the swimming pool to including cleaning, chemical quality, and temperature. Ensures the pool is operating at peak efficiency. 10. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises staff. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. 11. Maintains a working knowledge and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to facility and grounds, including OSHA Standards 12. Provides for a safe environment. Identifies problems and resolves areas of concern in a timely manner. 13. Ensures equipment is maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA. 14. Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA. 15. Carries out other tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Three or more years of practical experience in the maintenance/custodial field. 2. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas. 3. Working knowledge of housekeeping and grounds keeping. 4. Able to lead a team and supervise staff. 5. CPR/AED certification preferred. 6. Certified Pool Operator on Location preferred and required within 6 months of employment. 7. Respirator/Fit Test certification within 90 days of employment. 8. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. 9. Valid NYS driver’s license. 10. Excellent human relations skills. 11. Experience working with diverse populations. 12.
