Introduction: Hello, we are World Service West. We are a cleaning company that provides various services at many different locations. We have been in business for over 40 years and are looking to add a few more experts to our teams. Job description: We are looking for a Janitor, or custodian, to carry out cleaning, maintenance and security duties. The goal is to keep our customers spaces in a clean and orderly condition. The position will be to provide cleaning services for a concourse type of environment. Responsibilities: • Clean and supply designated areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.) • Empty public trash containers multiple times a shift • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects • Cooperate with the rest of the staff • Follow all health and safety regulations • Cleaning and upkeep of passenger waiting areas (gates), passenger boarding bridges, restrooms, and outdoor areas • Onsite client locations (offices, kitchens, locker rooms, break rooms, etc.) • Floor and carpet care (cleaning, stain removal, and maintenance) • Immediate response to spills or wet floor • Biohazard Sanitation • Trash removal (multiple times per shift) • Report facility damages or issues to building management • Emergency response • Provide guidance/directions to any passenger that requests • Restock supplies Schedules/Hours: 8 Hours/Night, 5 Nights/Week Weekends not guaranteed Shift: 10:00PM - 6:30AM (Overnight) Skills: Proven working experience as a janitor Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets Integrity and ability to work independently High school degree Requirements: Able to lift more than 30 lbs. continuously Ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, reach, and climb for extended periods of time Min. 1 year of prior professional cleaning experience. Proven experience in a fast-paced worked environment. Ability to work independently Comfortable working in a public setting, surrounded by many people Employment dependent on ability to obtain security clearance (5-10 year background checks) • Must be able to obtain a security clearance o Legally be able to work in the United States. o Must have valid forms of identification o Must pass all Mandated background checks (FAA, FBI, CBP, TSA, etc.)  10 year Criminal (fingerprint search is mandatory)  10 year Employment (gaps in employment must be justified with any pertinent records) o Comply with all rules and regulations of the airport Pay: $17.00 - $21.85 per hour Benefits: Access to Medical/Dental/Vision/Life after 8 months of employment
