Title: Mechanic Location: Ocala, FL Status: Full Time Reports to: Operations and General Manger Please call Stewart @ 352-373-9530 Job Summary: The Mechanic position requires work in a fast-paced environment maintaining vehicle and equipment repairs and maintenance for a working fleet. This position requires high proficiency in the maintenance and repair of diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment such as trailers, skid steers, zero turn and walk behind mowers, edgers, weed eaters, blowers, as well as non-powered equipment such as trailers, etc. The Mechanic should be skilled in welding along with troubleshooting and repair of mechanical issues for maximum reliability and functionality. This position demands excellent communication skills and attention to detail. *Pay is comparable to experience. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Tasks may include but are not limited to the following: · Always take a safety-first approach. · Maintain and repair vehicles, equipment, and tools according to need and DOT Compliance. · Maintain vehicle maintenance and service records. · Prepare and meet vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules · Conduct routine maintenance work (replace fluids, lubricate parts, etc.) for optimal functionality and longevity. · Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and repair problems such as leaks, etc. · Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for repair or maintenance of vehicles and equipment. · Keep accurate and up to date logs on work and issues. · Maintain equipment and tools in good condition. · Complete and submit service-related paperwork in a timely and orderly fashion. · Complete and submit service-related paperwork in a timely and orderly fashion. · Communicate effectively with management and team members. Advanced Tasks: · Assist with creation and implementation of system for vehicle/equipment maintenance tracking. · Track all vehicles and equipment maintenance and inspection schedules. · Adjust to timelines and workloads. · Adhere to by all driving laws and Company policies when operating company vehicles. · Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle, trailer, and equipment inspections. · Train employees on the care of vehicles and equipment. · Be aware of potential issues for future tasks and notify supervisor if it cannot be easily corrected. Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills Required: · Proven experience as auto mechanic. · Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc. · Excellent physical condition. · High School diploma or equivalent preferred. · Position requires successful completion of company approved training program. · Ability to calculate basic math. · Ability to work Saturdays and Sundays as needed to meet goals. · Ability to work more than 8-hours per day if need to meet goals. · Possess a valid driver license and be at least 18 years of age. · Ability to pass seven-year criminal background check. · Ability to pass substance abuse testing. · Ability to pass seven-year motor vehicle report and meet eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier. Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities · Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. · Ability to interpret an extensive variety of information and deal with abstract and concrete variables. · Ability to read and understand product labels accurately to ensure that they are properly applied, stored, and disposed of in compliance with State and Federal laws. · Ability to establish strong internal and external relationships. · Ability to work with limited supervision and complete all vehicle and equipment maintenance in timely manner to minimize downtime of vehicle and equipment.
