Job Title: Housekeeper Job Status: Part-time Non-Exempt Ronald McDonald House Charities of El Paso - Overview Since 1984, Ronald McDonald House Charities of El Paso has been providing "a home away from home" for hundreds of families with seriously ill children who are undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals. In addition to providing lodging and love, RMHC of El Paso has also been a steward of goodwill in the border region, helping to develop and support programs/services that directly improve the health of children in this community. Job Purpose: Under the general direction of the Program Director, the housekeeper is responsible for insuring a clean sanitary environment in all areas of The Ronald McDonald House. Duties: • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and presentation in all areas of the house • Must pay attention to detail • Clean, dust, furniture, windowsill, baseboards, wall plaques, dust plants, clean windows, and tabletops • Clean/sweep/mop, public and staff restrooms • Refill paper products, etc. • Clean interior of microwaves, stove ovens, refrigerators, and toaster ovens, clean cabinets, inside and out. • Move all dining room chairs/cabinets and clean under the tables. • Clean rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner. • Dust all wood panels, lighting fixtures, and picture frames. • Guest restrooms and bedrooms will be cleaned depending on vacancies; clean tub, vanity, commode, light fixtures, mirrors, and baseboards. • Report any maintenance issues immediately to program director, including all furniture, fittings and equipment. • Other duties as assigned. Key Competencies: • Attention to detail • Reliability • Listening Skills • Adaptability • Planning and organizing • Team work • Integrity • Honesty Qualifications and Skills: • High School Diploma or Equivalent • 1 year + housekeeping experience • Must interact and communicate, both oral and written • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred • Able to work weekdays, and holidays Physical Demands: While performing the responsibilities of the job the employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
