Two Indicted, One At-Large In Murder Of Weymouth High School Student

QUINCY, MA — A Norfolk County Grand Jury indicted two men for murder in the February shooting death of a 17-year-old Weymouth High School student Nathan Paul. Jaivon Harris, 18, was arrested in late February, and the other - Keniel Diaz-Romero, 18, remains on the loose and is believed to be outside of Massachusetts, Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey. "We are working with local, regional, and federal law enforcement to find him and take him into custody," Morrissey said. Harris entered a not guilty plea at his Quincy District Court arraignment in March and has been held without bail since. Both Harris and Diaz-Romero stand indicted for murder, larceny from a person, possession of a counterfeit bill, and conspiracy to commit larceny. Harris faces the additional indictment of misleading police. Diaz-Romero is also indicted for unlawfully carrying a firearm. On Feb. 15, around 6:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the area of Taffrail Road in Quincy after receiving reports of shots fired. When officers got to the scene, they found a man, later identified as Paul, who appeared to have been shot inside a car while driving and drove off before crashing a little further up the road, police said. Paul was taken to Boston Medical Center where he later died, officials said. An investigation ensued and two weeks later, Harris was placed under arrest in connection to the shooting. "Harris was due to return to Quincy District Court on June 3, but we hope to schedule his arraignment in Norfolk Superior Court shortly," Morrissey said. "We continue to work cooperatively with local and regional law enforcement to locate Diaz-Romero." Police ask anyone with information to contact them immediately.
