OAK CREEK, WI — The city is proposing a new pavilion for Abendschein Park that would include space for a beer garden, community gatherings and event space, according to Oak Creek Plan Commission documents. The project would bring a pavilion building with over 3,000 square feet of enclosed space to the northwest side of the park. It would include a covered outdoor space, restrooms, and a main hall with a serving counter and removable beer tap station, according to plan commission documents. The operations area of the pavilion would include a concession kitchen and a sale window, and the main hall would be about 1000 square feet. Part of the project would also include a small performance stage and parking lot expansions, but plan commission documents noted that would be for the future. The city currently hosts beer gardens at Abendschein Park, but those come and go as pop-up events throughout the summer. For 2022, three beer gardens are set to come in June, July, and August alongside live music, according to the city's website. The new pavilion would feature large glass garage doors, leading to covered outdoor patio space that would be used for outdoor seating, city plans show. Plunkett Raysich Architects formed the plans for the City of Oak Creek. The pavilion would be located at 1321 Drexel Avenue.
