Overview Ka ʻAha Lāhui O ʻOlekona Hawaiian Civic Club of Oregon and SW Washington, Samoa Pacific Development Corporation, and Oregon Pacific Islander Coalition are proud to host Oceania Rising: Celebrating Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The event gathers Oregon's Pacific Islander leaders, NCORE attendees, and government leaders + organizational partners together. This event is part of OPIC’s continued effort to bring Pacific Islander power to the forefront of racial justice, and share the history, culture, and leadership of the 30+ nations and 20,000+ islands that are core to Oceania and it's indigenous peoples. We're looking forward to gathering around food and building our networks to support Pacific Islander people. Details Location: Spirit of 77 is located across the street from the Convention Center Food: a buffet selection of American classics by Spirit of 77 Drink: The first 200 attendees will be given two drinks tickets. Attendees can also purchase drinks directly with Spirit of 77's bar. Age: Attendees under 21 are welcome to attend, but will have to leave the venue by 10:00 PM. COVID-19 Safety: The venue will cap attendees at 250 people. Our greeters will require proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours. Reach out to [email protected] Oregon Pacific Islander Coalition is driven by a collective of Pacific Islander leaders including: KALO HCC, Le'o 'o e OFA, Living Islands, Micronesian Islander Community, Oregon Marshallese Community Association, Samoa Pacific Development Corporation, UTOPIA PDX, and a number of individuals and advisors fiercely committed to Pacific Islanders. OPIC’s mission is to strengthen Pacific Islander-led (Melanesians, Micronesians, Polynesians) movements that raise our collective voices, experiences and expertise through leadership development, community organizing, and advocacy.
