10 Danbury Students Honored For Academics And Service

DANBURY, CT — Ten Danbury Public School students were recognized for their accomplishments by the Western Connecticut Superintendents Association on May 16. The award is given to students who demonstrate leadership service to the school, academic prowess relative to ability, and service to others in the community. The following students were nominated by their school principal: Michael Jimenez, Broadview Middle School Mackenzie Pudelko, Broadview Middle School Kelis Gardner, Rogers Park Middle School Hakeem Osman, Rogers Park Middle School Isabella Confortini, Westside Middle School Ronald Philip, Westside Middle School Mathew Mathew, Danbury High School Samantha Andersen, Danbury High School Nicole Quizhpi Guaman, Alternative Center for Excellence Kristen Villani, Alternative Center for Excellence The student awards program was originated by the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents, and the Public Information Committee. The program aims to provide superintendents with a means to recognize students in their local communities. "We are extremely proud of our students for their outstanding achievement," Superintendent Kevin Walston said. WCSA recipients will be honored by the Danbury Board of Education On Wednesday during their 7 p.m. bi-weekly meeting.
